Their presence is actually pretty strong, and can pose serious problems especially for rookie stalkers. Sometimes you can see groups of 6-8 bandits walking towards the strongpoint west of the hangar.
The directions given in the official description are wrong - the Agroprom Research Institute is actually to the west, and Dark Valley to the east, and the first area you’ll come to when heading north is in fact the Bar (the Wild Territory is west of the Bar area and only connects to the Bar and Yantar).
